Posts of Interest:

I posted reviews for:

This book was written in the form of an apology letter from a girl who hears voices to a boy she met during the summer explaining why things ended up the way they did. The format was interesting and reading about a character with a mental illness was interesting as well. I really enjoyed this one!

This book was a flop for me. No introduction or background information made this book kind of just a pain to read. The book pretty much just ends. The prologue was at the end of the book, but I didn't care enough about the story to try to read it.

This book I found predictable and I think that 3 stars is generous because the love triangle made me crazy.

I liked this book when I read it, but looking back on it right now trying to come up with a cute little blurb, I can't think of anything to say.

DNF

This DNF was really disappointing because I loved Wein's Code Name Verity, but about 68 pages in, I was bored out of my mind and I didn't feel like I had learned anything worth while about the characters.

This book is the perfect summer-y beach read! The stories are really varied to include POC, LGBTQ, mental illness, happy endings, less than happy endings, contemporary, fantasy, paranormal, science fiction. There is a little bit of everything in this book and it was fun!

I participated in blog tours for Summer Days and Summer Nights, Invision, and The Star-Touched Queen.

I reviewed the April Owlcrate!

I discussed what I want to see in a villain love interest.

I posted my second A Glimpse Back in Time post! Badass Women of WWII!

I posted two more personal discussion posts because I had them both drafted and was sick of rescheduling them because other things came up. I did a Throwback Thursday post and talked about my degree in Human Services.

Life Updates:

May was a complete dream compared to April. April was SO insanely busy with calving and work and trying to stay on top of housework and blogging. But despite having little to no free time, I managed to read 11 books and I had at least one blog post everyday.

I don't know how I got so behind on posts for May since life was infinitely more chill for me this month. I only read two books and I am slowly making my way through a third that will definitely not be finished before the month is over.

Maybe I just needed a break.

My sister came to visit me twice this month. She came for a week at the beginning of the month which was so awesome! Basically when she's here we cook/eat and play Hyrule Warriors. Which is awesome.

One thing that was not awesome while she was here the first time was that I got sick. Like up all night, couldn't sleep, staring into the depths of the garbage can, wishing your stomach would just get it over with already. I haven't been sick like that since I was in middle school. I think the culprit was a Subway sandwich that I left out too long while I was at work.

The second time that my sister came out was a lot more eventful. We did a lot of cooking/Hyrule Warrior-ing as usual, but we also went to the archery range and went through the little target course they have. It was quite fun.

As of yesterday, my sweet little kittens are 7 weeks old. They'll be ready to go in less than a week and I'm not ready for them to go! :( I have found a home for two of them! I am happy that someone wanted two so that they could be together!

I put an ad for them on one of those Facebook garage sale sites and someone on there is thinking that I need to drive an hour to give them free kittens. No thank you, you can come to me if you want free kittens.

My entire house is a complete disaster and I really need to remedy that. Like this week. Branding week is coming up quickly and some of the BF's family will probably stay in our spare room. My house is NOT fit for guests right now.

I finally watched season 4 of Game of Thrones! I had previously watched all the seasons minus the very first two episodes with the BF, but I finished this season without him because he kept ditching me in favor of doing other things by himself so I just don't even feel bad for him.

I have season 5 and I am so jazzed that I don't have to make sure it works with his schedule to watch it! I need to get caught up because some people just don't know what they should and shouldn't talk about on social media when it comes to this show.

I guess beyond that, my life has really been uneventful this month.

Looking Ahead:

I think I'm gonna join a book club type thing so I have made plans to participate in Hype or Like Friday. I'll have my first discussion for it tomorrow rather than Friday because Friday is my one year blogoversary and I have a post planned for that day!

Hopefully when I check The Raven Boys out from the library again, I actually read it this time.

The books I plan on reading in June:

-Finish A Blanket for Decay by Zack Scott
-And I Darken by Kiersten White
-Me Before You by Jojo Moyes
-All the Feels by Danica Stone
-The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater
-Outlander by Diana Gabaldon

We will see how that goes. Those are all the reading plans I have when looking ahead.

Other things I plan to do for June include:

-Branding
-Get new tires (THEY'RE $134 EACH THATS SO GROSS)
-Maybe go to Valleyfair with my sister and her friends
-Watch season 5 of Game of Thrones

How did May go for you? Was it awesome? Do you have any big plans for June
